Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking an academic staff member to deliver lectures and run tutorials and labs in life sciences. You will monitor student progress and implement assessment strategies to ensure high learning outcomes, while contributing to curriculum development and programme quality.

The role involves advising students on academic performance and career opportunities, reviewing examination papers, and participating in module development within a dynamic teaching

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or equivalent is required.
• Minimum one year of teaching or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct lectures, tutorials/workshops and laboratory sessions.
• Monitor student progress through assessment strategies.
• Contribute to development of intellectual property for the School.
• Administer coursework and examination setting and marking.
• Review examination papers for quality and alignment.
• Conduct objective assessments on examination appeals.
• Assist in management and development of academics.
• Review teaching assignments and conduct classroom observations.
• Engage in student development with strong learning support.
• Advise students on academic performance and career opportunities.
• Contribute to module design, review and curriculum development.
• Develop course materials and prepare module review reports.

Job description

Working hours : Mon to Thurs 830am - 6pm Fri 830am -530pm Standard 42 hours work week - one month 1 night classes / Depends on rostering

Job Scope:

• Prepare and conduct lectures, tutorials/workshops and laboratory sessions
• Monitor student progress through the application of assessment strategies
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property for the School.
• Administer the setting and marking of coursework and examination.
• Review and ensure the quality of examination papers under area(s) of specialisation.
• Conduct objective assessments on examination appeal cases
• Assist in the management and development of academics.
• Review assignment of teaching assignments.
• Conduct classroom observation as required
• Engage in student development by providing strong learning support and monitoring of students' academic performance in life science.
• Advise students with respect to academic performance, career opportunities.
• Contribute to the review, design and development of related programmes and modules to ensure continued relevance and quality improvement of curricula.
• Develop course materials for new modules as required.
• Prepare course/ module review reports of internal and external programmes.
• New programme development preliminary module mapping tasks.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required by the company from time to time.

Requirements:

• PHD in Chemistry or equivalent
• Min one year of working experience
