Job summary

Activate Interactive Pte Ltd invites talented software engineers to join our COMPASS platform initiative. You will design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications and backend services, building RESTful APIs and microservices in a collaborative Agile environment.

You'll work with frontend and backend tech such as React, Node.js, Java Spring Boot, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to deliver scalable, secure solutions while embedding best practices for performance and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in fullstack application development and building enterprise-grade web applications.
• Strong proficiency in frontend technologies (ReactJS, Angular, Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript).
• Strong proficiency in backend development (Node.js, Python, Java Spring Boot).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications and backend services supporting the COMPASS platform.
• Develop frontend interfaces for COMPASS with responsive, accessible UI.
• Build backend services, APIs, and microservices to support data processing.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and system features.
• Design reusable, maintainable software components and integrate with internal/external systems.
• Implement RESTful APIs and cloud-native integrations (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Apply secure coding practices and perform code reviews, tests, and production support.

What the officer will be doing?

• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web applications and backend services supporting the COMPASS platform:
• Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications and user interfaces for COMPASS platform.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and microservices to support business functions and data processing requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and system features.
• Design and implement reusable, maintainable, and scalable software components.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Apply frontend engineering best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, performance optimisation, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Implement secure coding practices and comply with LTA security requirements.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Work closely with UI/UX designers and business users to improve application usability and user experience.
• Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Support application troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support activities
• Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver solutions and support knowledge sharing across the project team.

What are we looking for?

• Experience in fullstack application development and building enterprise‑grade web applications
• Strong proficiency in modern frontend technologies such as:
  • ReactJS, Angular, Vue.js,
  • or equivalent frameworks.
  • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript.
• Strong proficiency in backend development using:
  • Node.js, Python or Java Spring Boot
• Experience implementing frontend best practices including:
  • Responsive design
  • Accessibility
  • Performance optimisation
  • Component-based architectures
  • State management
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, API integration, and microservices architecture.
• Experience developing and deploying cloud‑native applications on AWS, with familiarity in container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server.
• Experience with GitLab source control, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
