Gasoil Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a driven Fuel Oil Trader to join its trading team. The role focuses on expanding the fuel oil trading portfolio, optimizing physical and paper positions, and delivering profitable, compliant operations across key regional markets.

The ideal candidate has 3–8 years in fuel oil or bunker trading, deep knowledge of physical and derivatives markets, and an established network. Mandarin fluency is required to engage with China counterparties.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in fuel oil trading, bunker trading, or related markets.
• Strong understanding of physical and paper markets, including derivatives and hedging instruments.
• Established network of suppliers, buyers, and brokers in fuel oil and bunkering.
• Proven track record of profitable trading and commercial acumen.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Mandarin language proficiency to deal with China market.

Responsibilities

Fuel Oil Trader

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and expanding the company’s fuel oil trading portfolio, identifying market opportunities, optimizing physical and paper positions, and ensuring profitable and compliant trading operations across key regional markets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute fuel oil trading strategies in line with company objectives and risk management policies.
• Identify and capitalize on market opportunities in physical and/or paper markets (VLSFO, HSFO, MGO, etc.).
• Build and maintain strong relationships with counterparties, suppliers, bunker traders, brokers, and customers.
• Manage end-to-end trading activities, including deal structuring, negotiation, execution, and post-trade follow-up.
• Monitor market trends, freight dynamics, refinery runs, arbitrage flows, and pricing structures across key hubs (Singapore, Fujairah, Rotterdam, etc.).
• Work closely with operations, risk, finance, and shipping teams to ensure smooth execution and compliance.
• Optimize logistics, blending, and storage positions to maximize trading margins.
• Conduct regular market analysis and provide insights and reports to senior management.
• Ensure adherence to internal compliance, credit, and risk management frameworks.

Requirement

• 3–8 years of experience in fuel oil trading, bunker trading, or related oil product markets.
• Strong understanding of physical and paper (derivatives) markets, including hedging instruments.
• Established network of contacts across suppliers, buyers, and brokers in the fuel oil and bunkering markets.
• Proven track record of profitable trading performance and commercial acumen.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, competitive trading environment.
• Able to speak Mandarin as position will deal with China market
