Job summary

The Perse School Singapore invites applications for a part-time/relief Teachers of French. You will teach across Primary and/or Senior levels, fostering language proficiency, cultural awareness and confidence in communication in a diverse, international setting.

Ideal candidates hold a teaching qualification and have 2+ years of experience, with native or near-native French and strong English. You will deliver engaging lessons and contribute to school life and safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or French with a recognised teaching qualification.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
• Proficiency in French (native or near-native) and excellent command of English.
• Strong understanding of the Cambridge curriculum for primary and/or secondary programmes.
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including EAL learners.
• Demonstrated classroom management, instructional planning, and communication skills.
• Ability to contribute to school life beyond the classroom, including trips, clubs, and cultural events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective French language curriculum and lesson plans aligned with the Cambridge International Framework and Perse curriculum.
• Deliver engaging and interactive French lessons to students of varying ages and proficiency levels.
• Develop students’ language proficiency across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
• Promote cultural awareness by integrating French history, customs, and traditions into learning.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leaders on student development.
• Participate actively in extracurricular and cultural activities related to the French language.
• Stay updated on new teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
