Job summary

ByteDance Singapore is seeking a Global Payments Risk Specialist to own end-to-end risk control across TikTok Shop, TikTok LIVE, monetization and ads. You will shape strategies, implement algorithms, and drive operations to safeguard cross-border payments for hundreds of millions of users from Singapore and beyond.

The role requires strong English, fintech or ecommerce risk experience, and a proactive, data-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above; 3+ years Fintech/E-commerce/payments experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as ops lead for an assigned domain; onsite 5-day work arrangement.

Responsibilities

The Global Payment Risk team delivers end-to-end payment risk control across mutiple business lines, including TikTok Shop, TikTok LIVE, monetization and ads, and games. Our risk expertise spans numerous countries and a wide range of payment methods, forming the security foundation behind cross-border pay-in, pay-out, and withdrawal. We manage fraud, financial crime, and compliance risk in real time, meeting card-scheme and issuer requirements while keeping friction low for legitimate transactions.

Risk control directly shapes payment success rates and how fast the business can move. You will own the full risk-control loop, from strategy and algorithms to product and operations, putting your decisions straight into real transactions for hundreds of millions of users worldwide. In line with the globalization strategy and vision of the company, the Global Payments team builds a platform to provide cross-border payment solutions for all ByteDance's products and services, that are growing rapidly worldwide.

• Own the risk operations workflows across payment and business scenarios, including customer complaints, appeals, and disputes. Monitor quality and efficiency, ensure consistent execution across internal teams, BPO agents, and AI agents.
• Partner with Risk Strategy, Product, Engineering, Customer Service, and external payment partners to resolve operational bottlenecks, improve customer experience.
• Design and roll out operations processes to support business expansion, new payment products, and emerging risk control touchpoints. Assess operational readiness, define ownership and escalation paths, and monitor post-launch performance.
• For the Specialist level: Act as the operational point of contact for an assigned business domain, lead end-to-end diagnosis of complex issues, and drive cross-functional improvement initiatives from problem definition through implementation and impact validation. This role will be based onsite at our office and will require a 5-day onsite work arrangement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s):

• Bachelor's degree or above.
• Over 3 years of work experience in Fintech, E-commerce, or payment-related companies.
• Proficient in English (oral and written) for regular collaboration with cross-regional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualification(s):

• Preferably majored in Business, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven capability; able to identify patterns from cases, and able to conduct data query using SQL or dashboard tools.
• High ownership, and strong cross-team collaboration capability.
