Charterhouse Partnership is seeking a Founding Engineer to build the core product from the ground up in a hands-on role. You will own architecture, backend, frontend and cloud infrastructure, and connect the LLM layer with solvers and a knowledge library.

The position demands turning prototypes into production-ready features and collaborating with AI researchers to ship scalable systems. You will design systems for long-running, compute-intensive workloads, while contributing across the stack

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience (or equivalent), with a CS or related degree.
• Strong backend skills in Python plus solid REST API design.
• Experience with cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers, CI/CD and monitoring.
• Practical frontend experience.
• Track record of taking products from early stage to production, ideally as an early or sole engineer.

An early-stage AI startup combining LLMs with algorithmic and optimisation techniques to power better decision-making is looking for a Founding Engineer.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer who builds the core product from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Take features from 0→1 and ship them to production
• Partner with AI researchers to turn prototypes into reliable product features
• Design systems for asynchronous, long-running, compute-intensive workloads

Requirements

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience (or equivalent), with a CS or related degree
• Strong backend skills in Python plus solid REST API design
• Experience with cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers, CI/CD and monitoring
• Practical frontend experience
• Track record of taking products from early stage to production, ideally as an early or sole engineer
• Comfort with ambiguity and strong technical judgment
• Bonus: experience with LLM APIs, agents or AI workflows
