Job summary

LG CNS is expanding its APAC footprint and seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with Singapore clients. You will build infrastructure behind AI solutions, write Python, integrate systems, and learn AgenticWorks with guidance from senior engineers.

You will collaborate with platform engineering, development and support teams across Korea and APAC, documenting decisions and delivering reliable deployments. English communication with clients is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• Proficient in Python, Linux fundamentals, APIs/JSON/SQL.
• Experience setting up servers/VMs or cloud environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand client workflows, clarify questions, document decisions and next steps.

With LG CNS Singapore, you will embark on a journey to deliver cutting‑edge IT technologies to APAC clients, which have been proven successful in Korea and become an industry‑leading Digital Transformation expert.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with clients in Singapore, build the infrastructure behind AI solutions, and bring AI agents into real‑world business workflows. This role is open to entry‑level candidates and engineers with up to four years of experience. With mentorship and design review from a senior engineer, you will install and configure infrastructure, write Python code, integrate systems, and contribute to testing and deployment.

You will build AI agents using AgenticWorks, LG CNS’s AI platform, and work with client teams in English. You will also collaborate with platform engineering, development and support teams at our Korean Head Office to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues. We value technical fundamentals, curiosity, thoughtful questions, receptiveness to feedback, and follow‑through on commitments.

• Work with clients to understand their workflows and requirements, clarify open questions, and document decisions and next steps.
• Install and configure servers, VMs and operating systems, including accounts, permissions, storage, network connectivity and baseline security settings, with senior engineering guidance and review.
• Set up web servers, application runtimes, databases and supporting components, and validate that the environment is ready to run the solution.
• Learn AgenticWorks and use Python, APIs and SQL to build assigned features, data processing capabilities and integrations with client systems.
• Test functionality and integrations against agreed acceptance criteria. Follow reviewed procedures to deploy and roll back changes and configure logging and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot issues by reproducing failures and inspecting logs, configuration and code. Document findings and attempted solutions and escal blockers with clear context when support is needed.
• Communicate progress, open questions and technical issues to clients, APAC regional teams and the Korean Head Office, and follow through on agreed actions.
• Incorporate feedback into code, configuration and documentation, and verify the results. Turn lessons learned into reusable scripts, setup instructions and technical documentation.
• Take on broader and more complex assignments as your skills develop. A senior engineer will provide review and support for key design decisions, production changes and complex incident resolution.

Required Skills:

• Python programming skills, with the ability to read existing code, debug issues and implement fixes.
• Foundational knowledge of Linux commands, file systems, permissions, processes and network connectivity.
• Understanding of HTTP/REST APIs, JSON and SQL, with experience applying these concepts in learning activities or projects.
• Hands‑on experience setting up runtime environments, running or deploying applications, and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Curiosity and initiative: learn through documentation, examples and experimentation, and explain your approach and findings clearly.
• An evidence‑based approach to problem solving: distinguish facts from assumptions, identify gaps in your understanding, and ask focused questions supported by what you have tried.
• Receptiveness to feedback: understand the reasoning behind suggestions, apply improvements, validate the results, and carry lessons into subsequent work.

• Clear spoken and written English for working with clients and colleagues in Singapore, including stakeholders from diverse language backgrounds. Ability to ask clarifying questions, explain technical work and issues, and document requirements and decisions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience setting up servers, VMs or cloud environments; using Docker; deploying web services; or integrating systems.
• Project experience building with LLM APIs, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) or AI agents.
• Experience working in English with clients or technical teams in Singapore or Southeast Asia.
• Experience collaborating with Korean colleagues, Korean companies or teams based at a Korean Head Office.
• Korean language proficiency for business and technical communication.
• Familiarity with security, access controls and change management in financial services or enterprise IT environments.

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent technical knowledge and skills gained through study, projects or practical experience.
