ADATAGROUP is seeking a hands-on Forward Deployed AI Engineer to build, deploy and continuously improve AI capabilities powering our trade-tech platform. You will work with clients, leadership and operations to translate requirements into technical solutions and deliver reliable AI-powered workflows into production.

In a small, high-impact team, you’ll address document intelligence, customs automation and agentic AI workflows, taking ownership from POC to production and ongoing optimization.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of professional software development experience with AI/ML/LLM apps.
• Strong Python programming skills and production-grade apps.
• Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini).
• Experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, Django or similar.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders including clients or operations teams.

We are looking for a hands-on Forward Deployed AI Engineer to build, deploy and continuously improve the AI capabilities powering our trade-tech platform.

This role combines AI engineering, solution development and direct client engagement. You will work closely with technical leadership, clients and operations teams to understand real-world trade challenges, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and deliver reliable AI-powered workflows into production.

You will take ownership of solutions from requirements gathering and proof-of-concept (POC) development through implementation, deployment and ongoing optimisation.

As part of a small, high-impact team, you will work across document intelligence, customs automation, trade compliance and agentic AI workflows, with direct responsibility for delivering solutions that create measurable operational value.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy LLM-powered applications and agentic AI workflows.
• Build and optimise document intelligence solutions for extracting structured data from invoices, bills of lading, customs forms and shipping instructions.
• Develop and maintain Python/FastAPI backend services and integrate external APIs.
• Improve the accuracy, reliability and performance of AI solutions in production.
• Evaluate emerging AI models, tools and frameworks for practical business applications.

Forward Deployment & Client Solutions

• Engage directly with clients and operations teams to understand workflows, business requirements and operational challenges.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications, solution designs and working prototypes.
• Develop POCs, validate solutions with users and deploy AI capabilities into live client environments.
• Troubleshoot production issues, refine workflows and continuously improve deployed solutions based on client feedback.
• Bridge communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business objectives.

Project Ownership & Delivery

• Take ownership of technical deliverables from initial requirements through deployment and post-implementation support.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery.
• Manage competing priorities in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Communicate project progress, technical trade-offs, risks and blockers clearly.
• Contribute to technical architecture, code reviews, testing and engineering best practices.

Requirements

Must Have

• 3+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on AI/ML or LLM application development.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience building production-grade applications.
• Experience working with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini.
• Experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, Django or similar frameworks.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including business users, clients or operations teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently manage technical deliverables.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working directly with clients in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Must have the legal right to work in Singapore. Work pass sponsorship is not available.

Strongly Preferred

• Experience deploying AI or software solutions into production environments.
• Hands-on experience with intelligent document processing, OCR, PDF parsing or structured data extraction.
• Experience developing agentic AI systems involving tool calling, multi-step workflows or orchestration.
• Experience gathering requirements, developing POCs and implementing client-specific solutions.
• Experience managing technical projects or coordinating delivery across multiple stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Google ADK or similar agentic AI frameworks.
• Knowledge of RAG, embeddings and vector databases.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Docker, AWS and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in logistics, freight forwarding, customs, supply chain or trade compliance.
• Experience with React, Next.js or TypeScript.
• Prior experience in a startup, consulting or forward-deployed engineering environment.
