Avanade Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer Lead Practitioner who will set the standard for production AI delivery. As a player-coach, you’ll drive the FDE track, shape architectures, and deliver enterprise-scale AI solutions.

Qualifications

8+ years in software or AI engineering with production-grade responsibility.
Hands-on agentic engineering: orchestration, retrieval, tool use, evaluation.
Strong command of the Microsoft AI stack and related platforms.
Set engineering standards and maintain them across teams.
Experience hiring engineers at volume with defensible criteria.
Credibility in client-facing engagements and delivery leadership.

Responsibilities

Partner with executives and architects to translate priorities into AI-enabled solutions.
Identify where AI creates measurable value and shape viable, scalable concepts.
Bridge strategy and execution to define production-ready architectures.
Own engineering standards, patterns, testing, and production readiness.
Evolve AI-native practices, reuse components, and ensure observability.
Define reference architectures using Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Avanade platforms.
Set hiring standards and build capabilities for the Forward Deployed Engineer track.
Lead complex, strategic mandates and ensure production outcomes for clients.
Collaborate with platform and IP leads to reuse assets and meet standards.
Partner with governance to design risk, adoption, and compliance into solutions.
