Job summary

About the role

As a Hand Packer/Food Packer, you will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and labelling meat products to meet our quality standards and customer specifications. This role is essential to ensuring our products reach customers in perfect condition whilst maintaining efficiency and food safety standards throughout the packaging process.

Key responsibilities

• Operate packaging machinery and equipment to pack food products according to customer orders, production requirements, and SOP

• Inspect packaged products for quality assurance, ensuring they meet company standards and are free from defects

• Weigh and measure food products to ensure correct portion sizes and packaging kilogram

• Apply labels and product information accurately to all packaged items

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards of packaging workstations and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations

• Stack, store, and organize packaged products

• Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials and report when supplies need replenishment

• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines

• Follow all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment at all times

• Report any equipment malfunctions or quality issues to supervisors immediately

What we're looking for

• Experience in food processing, packaging, or a related manufacturing environment is an advantage

• Responsible, punctual with good attendance, and able to follow instructions & SOPs.

• Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods

• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (WSQ Food Safety Course (FSC) Level 1 certification is a plus)

• Able to work independently and as part of a team
