is seeking a Firewall Support Engineer to safeguard company data by administering security infrastructure, monitoring breaches, and conducting in-depth incident investigations. The role requires 3+ years in cybersecurity with L2 responsibilities, strong knowledge of security protocols, LAN/WAN networks, Linux/Windows, and cloud security; hands-on with SIEM, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years in cybersecurity or information security roles with focus on L2 support or similar responsibilities; 1-2 years on mission-critical systems with tight SLA (99.9%).
• Strong understanding of security protocols, TCP/IP, network security, OS (Linux, Windows), and cloud security concepts; ITSM knowledge is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, and IR platforms.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP are valued.

Responsibilities

• Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security incidents escalated from L1 support, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor security alerts from SIEM platforms and dashboards.
• Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate penetration testing.
• Security Infrastructure Management: Implement, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR/AV, tokenization, HSM, 2FA, PAM, IBM Guradium, Rapid 7).
• Policy & Documentation: Develop and enforce security policies and documentation; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Threat Hunting: Proactively search for hidden threats and weaknesses to improve detection.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work with IT, development, and L3 teams; train junior staff.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed incident analyses and system status reports.
• On-Call Support: May require 24/7 on-call rotation and on-site presence.
