Job summary

Aastar Trading Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a Financial Controller to lead the Accounting and Finance department, ensuring accurate reporting and robust controls.

The role acts as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, with preference for candidates from commodities trading, agribusiness, or heavy industrial supply chains. The ideal candidate will have 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, CPA/CA/ACCA/CIMA preferred, and strong Excel/ERP/CTRM skills to support global operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or CIMA is highly preferred.
• 7 to 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance management experience in fast-paced or multi-entity businesses.
• Experience in commodities trading, agricultural supply chains, or bulk materials, including Mark-to-Market accounting, hedging and inventory valuation.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and ERP/CTRM software.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial governance by preparing accurate financial statements and reports to support strategic decision-making.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate financial risks.
• Manage working capital and trade finance activities to optimize cash flow and support business operations.
• Develop and oversee budgeting processes and conduct variance analysis to track performance against targets.
• Coordinate audit and tax management activities to ensure timely filings and statutory adherence.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounting and Finance team to enhance capabilities.

Job Summary

The Financial Controller will lead the Accounting and Finance department, oversee all financial reporting, and maintain a robust internal control environment. • Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and effective communication to engage with operational teams and executive board members
