Oliver James Associates Ltd. is partnering with a leading global energy organisation to hire a hands-on Financial Accountant to support its Singapore finance team.

The role blends strong technical accounting with finance automation and process improvement. You will manage day-to-day accounting across sales, purchases, cash flow, AP/AR, month-end close, journal entries, audits, and Singapore GST, with exposure to corporate tax.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline.
• Strong hands-on financial accounting experience and knowledge of general ledger processes.
• Experience with AP/AR, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Exposure to Singapore GST and Corporate/Withholding Tax is a plus.
• Practical Python experience in accounting/finance automation is desirable.

Responsibilities

**Financial Accountant | 12-Month Contract | Singapore**We are partnering with a leading global energy organisation to hire a hands-on Financial Accountant to support its Singapore finance team.This role is ideal for an Accountant who combines strong technical accounting fundamentals with an interest in finance automation and process improvement.**Key Responsibilities**\\* Manage day-to-day accounting transactions across sales, purchases, cash flow, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable \\* Maintain and reconcile customer and supplier accounts \\* Perform bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding items \\* Support month-end and year-end closing activities \\* Prepare and post journal entries and account schedules \\* Support payment processing and other finance disbursements \\* Prepare documentation for internal and external audits \\* Support Singapore statutory tax matters including GST, Withholding Tax and Corporate Tax \\* Use Python to automate finance and accounting processes \\* Manipulate and analyse financial datasets \\* Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and reduce manual processes \\* Support broader finance process improvement initiatives**Requirements**\\* Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline \\* Strong hands-on financial accounting experience \\* Good understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations and month-end closing \\* Experience across AP, AR, journal entries and financial reporting \\* Exposure to Singapore GST, Corporate Tax and/or Withholding Tax \\* Practical Python experience, ideally within accounting, finance, data processing or automation \\* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills \\* Strong attention to detail and organisational ability \\* Able to communicate clearly and work independently \\* Comfortable working within a multinational and fast-paced environment**Highly Relevant Experience**Candidates with experience using Python to automate tasks such as reconciliations, data manipulation, reporting, journal preparation or finance workflow improvement would be particularly relevant.Experience within energy, utilities, trading, insurance, financial services or another complex multinational environment would be advantageous.**Contract Details**\\* 12-month initial contract \\* Potential for yearly renewal \\* Singapore based \\* Hybrid working arrangement \\* Approximately 60% office based and 40% home based \\* Full-time, 5 days per week \\* Target start within approximately 4 to 6 weeks**Interested?**If you are a Financial Accountant who enjoys combining hands-on accounting with technology and process improvement, we would be keen to hear from you.Apply with your latest CV for a confidential discussion.
