Job summary

TotalEnergies Singapore Services (TESS) is seeking a domain finance professional to join our shared services team. The role covers monthly, quarterly and year-end financial accounting, reconciliations and reporting, with oversight of AP/AR and intercompany activities.

The candidate will hold a recognised accountancy degree, professional qualification preferred, and 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

  • Professional accountancy qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA) preferred.
  • 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience managing full-set accounts in a multinational or complex environment.
  • Exposure to shared service operating models and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounts.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
  • Record journal entries, accruals, provisions and adjustments.
  • Manage AP/AR functions including invoices, payments and collections.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports for management and group reporting requirements.

Activities
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounts.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
  • Record journal entries, accruals, provisions and adjustments accurately and timely.
  • Manage and oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, expense claims, collections, and related transactions
  • Monitor Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), goods receipts, open purchase orders (POs), and related procurement transactions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and timely resolution of outstanding items
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of general ledger balances.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports for management and Group reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize working capital, mitigate credit risk, and support effective credit management
Internal Control, Statutory & Tax Compliance
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, IFRS and Group accounting policies.
  • Prepare and coordinate direct and indirect tax filings, including annual corporate tax filing and tax queries, GST/VAT, withholding tax reporting and other tax matters.
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX requirements and Group compliance standards
  • Respond to government surveys, regulatory reporting requests, and other statutory requirements
  • Support corporate secretarial matters, including statutory filings, governance documentation, and compliance-related activities
  • Review and improve accounting processes and procedures
  • Support and monitor service delivery from Shared Service Centres and drive continuous improvements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on the business.
Intercompany & Business Support
  • Manage intercompany recharges, settlements and reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely resolution of intercompany differences.
  • Provide accounting support to business stakeholders and operational teams.
  • Partner with business units to support new products, new business activities and process changes.
Process Improvement, Projects & Change Management
  • Participate in finance transformation, digitalisation and automation initiatives.
  • Participate in system implementations, process transformation and integration projects.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and new business ventures where applicable.
  • Perform ad hoc assignments, special projects and other responsibilities requested by management.
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum degree holder in Accountancy or Equivalent (Bac + 3)
  • Recognized professional accountancy qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant, CPA or ACCA membership) preferred.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience managing full-set accounts in a multinational or complex business environment.
  • Experience supporting multiple entities, business units or international operations.
  • Exposure to shared service operating models and ERP systems.
  • Experience in energy, commodity trading, manufacturing, renewables or related industries is advantageous.
  • Ability to cope well with stress and multi-tasking
