Job summary

The Finance Manager at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research will support the FP&A function in strengthening financial data quality, management reporting and dashboard capabilities.

The role will own Finance data for management dashboards, working with Finance Partners, Research Units and Technology teams to validate, reconcile and define reporting rules, ensuring accurate, consistent information for Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, Business, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
• Candidates with approximately 2-4 years of FP&A, management reporting, data analytics or business analysis experience are welcome.
• Good understanding of Budget, Actual, Forecast, Differences and Utilisation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with an ability to identify and investigate data discrepancies.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial datasets.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA, SAC or other ERP systems would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with Power BI or other BI tools is advantageous.
• Ability to translate organisation and Finance requirements into clear functional requirements for technical teams.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Structured, methodical and comfortable working across Finance, Research and Technology teams.
• Strong interest in financial data, management reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Data Validation & Reconciliation: Validate and reconcile financial data used for management reporting and dashboards.
• Dashboard Design: Translate requirements into functional specs and define KPIs, hierarchies and rules.
• Management Reporting & Analysis: Support recurring reporting and analyse Budget vs Actual, Forecast movements and trends.
• Data Governance & Documentation: Maintain definitions, rules and a finance data dictionary.
