Job summary

HOLMAN FENWICK WILLAN SINGAPORE LLP is seeking a proactive finance professional to join the Singapore Finance team. This hands-on role covers accounts receivable, billing, accounts payable, month-end processes, treasury support and client monies administration.

You will work with colleagues across the finance function on routine tasks and projects to support accurate financial reporting and compliant operations in the Singapore office.

Qualifications

• Diploma, degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years' relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Experience in a law firm, professional services environment or client account environment would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of accounts receivable, billing and general accounting processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and lookups.
• Exposure to Elite, Chrome River or similar systems would be beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and recurring deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, adaptable and willing to learn across different areas of finance.
• Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with billing processes, including bill preparation and amendments.
• Review WIP reports to assess billable status and ensure policy compliance.
• Work closely with partners and matter teams to resolve aged WIP issues.
• Post disbursements accurately in line with Singapore GST and accounting standards.
• Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve accounts payable matters.
• Support banking-related administration and payment processing activities.
• Assist with month-end closing duties, including journal posting and maintaining monthly balance sheet schedules.
• Daily review and posting of client account bank transactions; handle trust account transactions and monthly reconciliations.
• Provide coverage for ship sale closing procedures, liaising with banks to obtain MT103, and transfers from clients' accounts to office accounts.
• Assist with breach register maintenance and compliance reporting requirements.
• Support internal and external audit by consolidating required documentation for internal controls and statutory obligations.
• Support GST, tax and statutory reporting requirements where required.
• Work with finance systems to support effective use of Elite, Chrome River, Intapp and banking platforms.
