Job summary

Our client, a leading Japanese professional services firm, seeks an Assistant Manager (Finance) to manage outsourced accounting for international clients in Singapore. You will prepare financial statements, oversee closing processes, and support due diligence engagements with senior stakeholders.

The role requires a degree in accounting/finance, 4+ years in accounting, and strong knowledge of SFRS. Travel to Malaysia/Indonesia and Japanese language interest are advantageous; Singaporecitizen/PR

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in an accounting or consulting environment.
• Experience in Financial Due Diligence (FDD) is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
• Experience in managing a portfolio of clients and full accounting & reporting activities.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; able to work independently.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with clients, auditors, and tax agents.
• Willingness to travel to Malaysia and/or Indonesia for projects will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in Japanese or interested in learning Japanese is advantageous.
• Singapore Citizen or Singapore PR only.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full spectrum of outsourced accounting activities for a portfolio of local and international clients.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Conduct Financial Due Diligence (FDD) engagements, including financial analysis and identification of key business risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with clients, external auditors, tax agents, and other stakeholders on accounting, audit, and compliance matters.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger schedules, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and reviewing work to maintain high-quality service delivery.
• Identify process improvements and support the implementation of best practices to enhance operational efficiency and client service standards.
