Job summary

MORGAN MCKINLEY PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an IT Finance professional to optimise Pan-Asia IT operations and align technology initiatives with business objectives.

You will manage the IT budget, track spend, and oversee accounts receivable/payable within the IT department. Reporting to the IT Governance & Administration Lead, you will collaborate with senior leaders and business units to improve efficiency and drive cost optimisation across the bank's securities division.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, CS, IT or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of IT financial operations or business processes in financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of accruals, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
  • Proficiency with Excel, SAP or Oracle Financials.
  • Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • ACCA or CIMA qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the Pan-Asia Securities Division technology budget.
  • Create spend-tracking mechanisms to support financial goals and optimise allocations.
  • Handle day-to-day accounts receivable and payable operations, monthly accruals and reconciliations for the IT department.
  • Provide forecasts, trend analysis and management information reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with inter-entity teams on financial reporting requirements.
  • Manage inter-entity SLA to ensure seamless charging of technology services.
  • Lead finance process re-engineering initiatives within IT to improve accuracy and productivity.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams for internal communications and committee meetings.
  • Act as the internal PMO for project-governance activities.
  • Maintain the vendor and contract database and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
  • Drive IT hardware and software asset-tracking processes to optimise demand and supply, pricing and service delivery.

Job Description

As a member of the IT Governance & Administration team, you will play a critical role in optimising Pan-Asia IT operations and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.

Reporting directly to the IT Governance & Administration Lead, you will be responsible for managing and optimising day-to-day financial processes to ensure alignment with the company’s financial goals and objectives. You will collaborate with senior leaders, technology teams and business units to improve operating efficiency and enhance the overall technology landscape within the Securities Division.

This is a hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations and Process Optimisation

  • Develop and oversee the technology budget for the Pan-Asia Securities Division, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Develop technology spend-tracking mechanisms to support financial goals, identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise resource allocation.
  • Handle day-to-day accounts receivable and accounts payable operations, monthly accruals and reconciliations for the IT department.
  • Provide financial forecasts, trend analysis and management information reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with inter-entity teams on financial reporting requirements.
  • Manage inter-entity Service Level Agreements to ensure the seamless charging of technology services across different entities within the bank.
  • Lead finance process re-engineering initiatives within the IT department to improve accuracy and productivity.

Business Management

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop internal communications and materials for senior committee meetings.
  • Act as the internal PMO for project-governance activities.

IT Procurement Management

  • Maintain the vendor and contract database and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and value enhancement.
  • Drive IT hardware and software asset-tracking processes to optimise demand and supply, pricing and service delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or a related field.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in IT financial operations or business processes, preferably within the securities or financial-services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, accrual processes, budgeting, forecasting, expense management and management reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software such as Microsoft Excel, SAP or Oracle Financials.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA would be advantageous.
