Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Field Service Technician in Singapore to perform service, maintenance and overhauls on MaK engine components. The role requires travel up to 25% of the time and onsite work five days a week.

You will operate within the MaK Asia workshop, collaborating with engineering and technical staff to ensure high-quality maintenance and customer service. The position emphasizes safety, independent work on engine components and clear communication with ship crew and engineers.

Qualifications

• Must have vessel engine repair experience.
• Good mechanical comprehension and strong communication skills with technical staff and fellow employees.
• Knowledge of maintenance, ability to communicate with other technical personnel and machine repair practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs replacement of parts and assemblies under the guidance of the service engineer.
• Works from service manuals and schematics with supervision as needed.
• Performs tasks with minimal supervision using experience and good judgment.
• Communicates effectively with technical staff and customers about engine equipment issues.
