Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a Service Manager for Marine Mechanical Equipment in Singapore. Lead service engineers, technicians and subcontractors to deliver installation, commissioning, and maintenance across vessels, shipyards and client sites.

Drive service quality, customer satisfaction, and after-sales profitability. The role combines technical service operations with customer relationship management, requiring travel to onboard vessels and customer locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years in marine/shipping/offshore equipment industries.
• Experience supervising service engineers/technicians.
• Strong understanding of marine mechanical systems and equipment.
• Experience dealing with shipowners, ship managers and yards.
• Commercial awareness in quotations, costs and profitability.
• Willingness to travel to vessels and sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the service department including engineers and technicians.
• Plan and coordinate service activities onboard vessels, shipyards and sites.
• Allocate resources based on project requirements and schedules.
• Act as main point of contact for customers on service, repair, and maintenance.
• Review service requests and determine required resources and parts.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, inspection and troubleshooting.
• Monitor service jobs from quotation to invoicing.
• Ensure service reports and records are completed accurately.
