Job summary

Dräger Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Field Service Engineer - Portable Gas to manage service orders, coordinate with service, logistics, and other departments.

You will perform commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and warranty repairs on portable gas equipment and systems. You will diagnose equipment issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions while providing clear technical updates to customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Dipl. in Process Instrumentation or Mechatronics preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in service/engineering in Oil & Gas or Process industries.
• Hands-on experience with instrumentation equipment and measurements.
• Marine industry experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned service orders from initiation through completion, coordinating with Service, Logistics, and other departments to ensure timely execution.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, providing updates and support on technical issues and delivery schedules.
• Perform equipment commissioning, contract maintenance, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, service documentation, and warranty repairs for portable gas equipment and systems.
• Independently diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to restore performance.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency service requests to minimize downtime.
• Prepare and communicate technical findings, service reports, and recommendations clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job support to junior service engineers and technicians.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned service orders from initiation through completion, coordinating closely with Service, Logistics, and other relevant departments to ensure timely and accurate execution.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, providing updates and support on technical issues, service requirements, equipment status, and delivery schedules.

• Perform equipment commissioning, contract maintenance, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, service documentation, and warranty repairs for assigned products and systems.

• Independently diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions to restore optimal performance.

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency service requests, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing equipment downtime.

• Prepare and communicate technical findings, service reports, and recommendations clearly and professionally to customers and internal stakeholders.

• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and on-the-job support to junior service engineers and technicians as required.

• Participate in service-related projects, equipment enhancement initiatives, emergency response activities, and other technical assignments to support business and customer needs.

Position Requirements:

Education Level:

• Dipl. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

• Dipl. in Process Instrumentation

• Dipl. in Mechatronics Engineering

Experience:

• 5–10 years of experience in service or engineering roles within the Oil & Gas or Process industries.

• Hands-on experience with instrumentation equipment and instrument measurements.

• Marine industry experience will be advantageous.
