Job summary

Applied Materials South East Asia Pte Ltd is seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer to support customers by installing and maintaining equipment. You will work with Senior Field Service Engineers to troubleshoot, diagnose and perform routine maintenance across electrical and mechanical subsystems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, up to 1 year of related experience, and willingness to travel extensively to support overseas customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 0–1 year experience in customer support or field service.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing basic technical challenges.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
• Willing to travel up to 75% to support overseas customers.
• Able to meet on-site safety, environmental guidelines and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers [Customer Engineers] in installing, maintaining, and upgrading customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting.
• Apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment and address technical issues, with guidance from Senior Field Service Engineers [Customer Engineers].
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers.
• Participate in projects/assignments in meeting organization goals.
• Fulfill additional duties, as assigned.
