Job summary

Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is seeking an Enforcement Officer to uphold Singapore's regulatory standards on the ground. You will perform inspections, document breaches, and engage with communities to explain rules, while applying statutory powers to secure compliance.

The role requires keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a team. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, with a 1-year contract offered initially.

Qualifications

• A degree in civil/structural engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, architecture, building or similar field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Prior enforcement/investigation experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and investigations to document evidence of regulatory breaches, including interviewing involved parties.
• Engage with homeowners and businesses to explain regulations in a clear, respectful manner.
• Execute statutory enforcement actions, including serving formal notices to secure compliance.
• Review and assess appeals with balanced judgement.
• Manage challenging interactions with the public using de-escalation techniques while maintaining professionalism.
