Job summary

Samsung Southeast Asia & Oceania in Singapore seeks a Field Data Center Engineer to join our on-site team. You will perform hands-on data center operations, install servers and networking gear, and coordinate with vendors to ensure smooth infrastructure delivery.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in data centers, strong cabling and hardware skills, and proven project coordination. You will document SOPs, manage inventory, and provide after-hours support as part of a rotating on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years data center experience.
• Experience with data center and network vendors.
• Hands-on server and network hardware installation.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site data center operations and ensure proper implementation of infrastructure projects, including server relocations.
• Hands-on installation of servers, network and security equipment; structuring cabling per standards.
• Maintain and troubleshoot hardware and physical network components.
• Coordinate on-site with third-party vendors for racks, power, servers, network gear and cabling.
• Ensure cabling and installations meet standards.
• Manage inventory and coordinate with suppliers and carriers for shipments.
• Document and improve standard operating procedures.
• Initiate and manage RMAs with equipment vendors.
• Provide after-hours on-call support during rotations.
