Field Applications Engineer – Semiconductor Metrology

Job summary

KLA is seeking an Applications Development professional to provide support for FAST products. You will develop test cases, characterize new products, and demonstrate capabilities to customers, linking metrology to yield issues.

Strong communication, independence, and data analysis skills are required, with up to 20% travel expected. Ideal candidates hold a relevant engineering-based degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) and have knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or related fields.
• Ideal candidate has working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing.
• Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Self-driven and strong team player.
• Programming/scripting skills in MATLAB or Python are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide applications development support to FAST products following standard procedures.
• Develop test cases and characterize new products/features; relate metrology to customer yield issues.
• Provide technical support in the development and implementation of customer applications for FAST products and features.
• Deliver product demonstrations to customers and assess applications to meet needs; prepare detailed specifications.
• Work toward characterization of tool/algorithm performance and provide feedback to Engineering for product improvement.
• Possess data analysis/processing and statistical analysis skills; quickly learn customer requirements and processes.
• Travel up to 20%.
