Job summary

ScienTec Consulting Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Upstream Operations professional in Singapore to operate bioreactors and oversee downstream processes including chromatography and drying.

The role emphasizes GMP/GDP-compliant documentation and quality control. Responsibilities include running fermentation across multiple scales, in-process testing, and maintaining safe, efficient operations with SCADA/Controls systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Food Science/Technology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in food manufacturing or related field; fermentation experience is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of GMP and GDP.
• Familiarity with ISO22000, FSSC22000, or BRC certification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate fermentation processes including media preparations, sampling, adjustments, and charge out for plate, shake flask, 10L, and 100L bioreactors.
• Operate batch/continuous centrifuge, decanter, high-pressure homogenisation, filtration, chromatography (including FPLC), spray drying, freeze drying, drum drying, solvent extraction, colloid mill, and filter press.
• Perform CIP/SIP procedures as per SOP.
• Conduct in-process testing including moisture analysis, pH, optical density, microscopy, dry/wet cell weight, SDS-PAGE, GC, and HPLC.
• Complete all documentation (Batch Manufacturing Records, CIP, Maintenance, Calibration, and Cleaning Records) in GMP/GDP.
