Job summary

AMD in Singapore is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to focus on advanced microprocessors and graphics processors (3nm FINFET and below). You will perform transistor nano-probing, electrical characterization using AFM, Electron Microscopy and materials analysis, and prepare high-quality TEM lamellae with focused ion beam techniques.

We value a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics or Materials Engineering and a strong background in wafer processing and materials characterization.

Qualifications

• B.Eng in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Materials Engineering or related field.
• Fundamental understanding of device physics.
• Strong background in semiconductor wafer processing and materials characterization.
• Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Focus on failure analysis of 3nm FINFET and below processors and graphics processors.
• Perform transistor nano-probing and electrical characterization using AFM, Electron Microscopy and materials analysis.
• Prepare site-specific TEM lamellae using focused ion beam techniques for structural, material, interface, and defect characterization.
• Conduct plasma FIB sample preparation and yield failure analysis on advanced products.
• Prepare high-quality samples for SoIC and heterogeneous integration.
• Follow laboratory safety, EHS, operating procedures, and quality requirements, particularly when operating high-energy beam systems and handling chemicals.
• Support continuous improvement and automation initiatives to increase sample-preparation success rate, throughput, tool utilization, and turnaround time.
