Job summary

marco polo shipyard pte. ltd. in Batam, Indonesia, seeks a full-time Facility/Plant Manager to lead maintenance, manage workshops and coordinate yard operations. You will plan maintenance, supervise staff, ensure safety, manage budgets and oversee subcontractors for facility upgrades.

The role requires a strong technical background with a track record in shipyard facilities and the ability to work in Batam full time, Bahasa skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering or Civil Engineering with strong technical background.
• Min 5-7 years as shipyard facility/plant facility manager.
• Able to communicate in Bahasa will be an advantage.
• Able to work in Indonesia, Batam full time.
• Microsoft Projects, MS Office, ISO standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop, prepare and execute Planned Maintenance schedules with a team of shipyard maintenance staff.
• Check and verify maintenance team daily work done.
• Lead a team of maintenance staff to upkeep and maintain equipment, machineries, prime movers, cranes (overhead, crawler & gantry).
• Custodian of all maintenance records as per ISO standards.
• In charge and responsible for maintaining workshops, office buildings, gravel docks, slipways, finger pier areas to health and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with other departments and support yard operations (dock lightings, dock gates, welding machines).
• Ensure facility development projects are completed on schedule within budget.
• Prepare annual budget for tools and equipment.
• Plan, vet and approve subcontractors' equipment/tools for shipyard use.
• Manage subcontractors work related to facility upgrades and development works.
• Monitor how hazardous waste (B3) is handled and disposed per local laws.
• Consolidate and make recommendations for purchasing/disposal of assets (e.g., scrap).
• Coordinate, track and verify rental equipment for yard operations.
• Prepare and present facility/infrastructure maintenance reports monthly to Management.
• Be designated person in charge for facility defects/recommendations reported by workers.
• Be a member of shipyard environment upgrade team.

6. Work closely with other departments and support the yard operations (eg, dock lightings, dock gates, welding machines etc)

7. Ensure facility development projects are carried out effectively and complete on schedule within budget

8. Prepare annual budget for tools and equipment

9. Planning, vetting and approving the subcontractors equipment/tools to be used in shipyard

10. Manage subcontractors work in relations to facility upgrades and development works

11. Monitor Hazardous eg, B3 waste generated in the shipyard is handled and disposed in accordance to local laws and regulation

12. Consolidate and make recommendation to Management for purchasing / disposal of assets, (eg, scrap)

13. Coordinate, keep track and verification of rental equipment in support of yard operations.

14. Prepare and present facility/infrastructure maintenance report to Management every monthly.

15. Designated person in charge (notification and rectification) for all facility defects/recommendation reported by shipyard workers

16. A member of shipyard environment upgrade team

17. This position is required to be full-time based in Indonesia, Batam.
