Job summary

Mdm Ling Bakery, a Singapore-based bakery brand, seeks a Business Development Manager to lead corporate, wholesale and institutional growth. You will own your portfolio and drive the full sales cycle from first approach to repeat orders, reporting to the founder.

This role offers real ownership: you will be in the room when deals are negotiated, supported by our own factory and warehouse. F&B experience and a proven account-opening track record are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science or related discipline.
• At least 4 years in business development or key account sales, with minimum 2 years in F&B.
• Proven track record of opening new accounts and meeting sales targets.
• Knowledge of F&B commercial practice: costing, margins, shelf life, lead times, listings, trade terms.
• Confident in presenting, negotiating and building relationships at buyer/management level.
• Proficient with sales systems and spreadsheets; able to work independently.
• Willing to travel locally for visits/events; occasional weekend work.
• Experience selling to supermarkets, hotels, airlines, corporate gifting buyers or institutions preferred.
• Tender submissions and procurement portal registrations viewed favourably.

Responsibilities

• Identify and win new corporate, wholesale, retail and institutional accounts.
• Build and maintain a forecastable pipeline for the business.
• Prepare and present proposals, tastings and pitches to prospective customers.
• Negotiate pricing, volumes, lead times and terms within our framework.
• Grow owned accounts through regular contact and seasonal campaigns.
• Own annual gifting cycle including forecasting and pre-selling.
• Coordinate with production/kitchen on requests and lead times.
• Coordinate with sales admin, warehouse and logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends; report to management.
• Submit weekly pipeline updates and monthly target reports.
• Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, roadshows and bazaars.
