Job summary

HOL Experiences in Singapore seeks a creative designer to shape immersive spatial narratives across galleries, exhibitions, and campaigns. You will translate concepts into living narratives, weaving technology, sensory elements, and architecture to craft engaging user journeys.

A strong portfolio in experience design or architecture is required; you will lead design documentation, presentations, and collaboration with clients and internal teams to deliver storytelling through space.

Are you a creative visionary with a keen eye for aesthetics and an uncommon passion for immersive storytelling? Are you adept at problem-solving and possess extensive experience in a gamut of creative projects?We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is highly intuitive and resourceful. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and articulating the creative paths of our projects, which encompass visual design, UI/UX, exhibition or gallery space, campaigns, and more. You should also have a keen interest in tech and have proven ability in developing outstanding design solutions and in working closely with clients to achieve successful outcomes.

What will you be doing?

Design & Conceptual Development:

• Leading the creation and articulation of design concepts that transform spaces into living narratives.
• Developing innovative and contextually relevant design solutions that thoughtfully integrate technology, sensory elements, and narrative arcs to craft engaging user journeys and tell powerful spatial stories.
• Preparing and presenting design documentation, including sketches, renderings, and models, to effectively convey the intended narrative experience.

Client & Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Serving as a primary design point of contact for clients, understanding their objectives and translating them into compelling spatial narrative strategies.
• Clearly communicating the design’s story, progress, and rationale to clients and internal teams, fostering alignment and partnership around the narrative vision.

Project Execution & Design Integrity:

• Upholding the integrity of the spatial story and overall design quality throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to final implementation.
• Working closely with internal teams, project managers, and external partners to ensure the faithful and meticulous execution of narrative design details.
• Contributing to the effective planning of design deliverables, ensuring adherence to HOL Experiences’ standards of excellence in storytelling through design.
• Staying attuned to advancements in design, technology, and interactive methods to discover new ways of telling stories in space.

What are we looking for?

Professional Background & Portfolio:

• A distinguished portfolio demonstrating significant experience in experience design, spatial design, or architecture, with a clear emphasis on narrative-driven projects.
• A proven history of contributing to and delivering high-quality, complex experiential projects where storytelling was a key component. A background in architecture or spatial design is essential.
• While formal qualifications are valued, HOL Experiences recognises that talent and skill can come from varied experiences; we particularly value a demonstrated ability to craft compelling spatial narratives.

Design & Technical Acumen:

• Demonstrable strength in creative conceptualization and spatial problem-solving, with an aptitude for developing and embedding narrative within the built environment.
• Proficiency in relevant design software and an understanding of how technology can enhance physical experiences and amplify storytelling.
• A nuanced understanding of user-centred design principles within built environments, focusing on how users experience a spatial story.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, enabling effective dialogue about narrative concepts with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• The ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and navigate complex project dynamics with composure, particularly in aligning diverse visions around a central story.
