Job description

As an Executive in Inventory Flow (Planning & Control), you will be the engine behind our data-driven inventory decisions. This role focuses on the technical execution of data retrieval and analysis to optimize stock levels and supply chain efficiency in our fast-paced grocery retail environment. You will leverage Big Query (BQ) and internal retail systems to transform raw data into actionable reports that help minimize waste and ensure our shelves are always stocked for our customers.

In summary, candidate is expected to translate complex numbers and data into clear, impactful insights and visualisation that is critical to support the retailer’s goals of maximizing profitability and delivering a seamless customer experience.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

• Report Architecture: Create, generate, and maintain actionable reports and automated dashboards that translate raw data into clear insights for stakeholders.
• Systems Deep-Dive: Use SQL to pull and analyse inventory data from internal systems (ERP, POS, and Warehouse Management) to pinpoint trends, identify operational bottlenecks, and surface optimization opportunities.
• Data Integrity: Ensure the consistency and accuracy of all supply chain datasets used for executive decision-making.

Inventory Optimization:

• Forecasting Support: Build and refine data-driven inventory insights and basic forecasting models to help the team optimize stock levels, specifically aiming to eliminate overstock and prevent stockouts.
• Tactical Recommendations: Translate data findings into practical strategies to improve inventory efficiency, such as adjusting reorder points or identifying slow-moving SKUs.
• Trend Synthesis: Incorporate micro-level supplier behaviour and consumer patterns into stock analysis to ensure product availability aligns with actual demand.

Process Improvement & KPI Tracking:

• Efficiency Scoping: Proactively identify inefficiencies in the current supply chain workflow and propose data-backed solutions to streamline operations.
• KPI Ownership: Rigorously monitor and report on key performance indicators, including stock turnover, fill rates, and shrinkage.
• Impact Assessment: Track the measurable impact of implemented strategies and propose iterative improvements based on performance data.
• Job Requirements

RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Industry Experience: 1-3 years in supply chain analytics, inventory management, or retail operations, preferably in grocery/FMCG.

Prior experience in managing supply chain or inventory optimisation and/or supply chain control tower

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL) and statistical software (Python). hands-on experience with Cloud-based tools/technology.
• Analytical experience with the ability to work with large amounts of data, including specific experience with BI tools, visualization, relational data structures, and financial modelling.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and retail-specific platforms (e.g., inventory modules, demand planning tools).
• Strong understanding of inventory metrics (In-stock, OTIF, days-on-hand) and forecasting methodologies.
• Experience and Knowledge in ETL (Extract Transform, Load) data processing will be beneficial

Business Acumen:

• Knowledge of grocery retail and operations dynamics.

• Strong storytelling and visualization skills to translate complex data into actionable insights.
