Job summary

Public Service Division in Singapore is seeking a field-oriented professional to support after-death care operations within the Memorial Services and Operations Division. You will help oversee exhumation processes, verify burial records, and conduct site inspections at Choa Chu Kang and other cemeteries, while handling public inquiries and ensuring contractor compliance.

• Good administrative and communication skills with a mature, independent and resourceful disposition.
• Physical stamina to carry out field work daily and withstand varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to work after office hours, on weekends and public holidays, in after-death environments.
• A self-driven and independent nature with a drive for continuous improvement.
• A valid Class 3 driving licence to drive the department’s vehicle for cemetery inspections.

Responsibilities

• Oversee exhumation by private and government contractors and ensure compliance.
• Carry out ground surveys, verify documents, plot layouts, and validate burial records before exhumation.
• Conduct site inspections at CCK Cemetery and other closed cemeteries and columbarium grounds.
• Participate in Qing Ming operations, 7th month and other festival operations at the cemetery complex.
• Attend to public feedback and enquiries, and provide recommendations on challenging cases.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

[What the role is]

You will be working in the Memorial Services and Operations Division within the Public Health Services and Capabilities Group and assist the section to provide after-death care services at government cemetery and crematorium office.

[What you will be working on]

You will be responsible for the following:

• Oversee the private and government exhumation and ensure compliance by contractors
• Carry out preparatory works, such as ground survey, verify documents, plot layout plan and validate burial records of the affected graves prior to physical exhumation
• Carry out site inspections at the cemetery in Choa Chu Kang (CCK) Cemetery and other closed cemetery and columbarium grounds
• Participate in other operational work (Qing Ming operations, 7th month and other festivals operations, etc.) at the CCK Cemetery complex
• Attend to public feedback and enquiries, including handling customers and putting up recommendations on challenging cases
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
