Job summary

TPC HOTEL PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a seasoned Housekeeping Manager to oversee guestroom and public area cleaning to luxury standards.

You will lead a team of housekeeping ambassadors, plan daily schedules, train staff, and ensure seamless collaboration with Front Office and Engineering for VIP guest readiness. Strong brand standards knowledge and fluent English are essential, with proven cost-control experience.

Qualifications

• Previous Housekeeping management experience in a luxury hotel.
• 5★ luxury market experience essential.
• Strong knowledge of brand standards and SOPs.
• Experience coaching and developing a management team.
• Proficient in Opera and MS applications.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the cleaning of guestrooms and public areas to maintain hotel and brand standards for guest comfort.
• Plan, organize and maintain records of rooms cleaned for efficient work patterns.
• Lead and motivate a team of housekeeping ambassadors.
• Manage daily schedules of the housekeeping ambassadors.
• Maintain clear communication with housekeeping ambassadors to strengthen relationships.
• Develop and train ambassadors in technical and soft skills.

• Ensure corridors and Heart of House areas meet policy standards.
• Inspect rooms regularly to ensure furnishings and equipment are well maintained.
• Manage laundry and linen inventory to control costs.
• Liaise with suppliers for housekeeping supplies and equipment.

Job Description:

• Oversee the cleaning of guestrooms and public areas as well as ensure that the standards of cleanliness and guest comfort are maintained in accordance to the Hotel and Brand standards to provide guests with maximum comfort.
• Plan, organize and maintain an accurate record of rooms being cleaned to ensure maximum cleanliness and logical work patterns for the guests and ambassadors respectively.
• Lead and motivate a team of housekeeping ambassadors, encouraging them to excel and stay focused.
• Manage and plan the daily schedules of the housekeeping ambassadors.
• Maintain good communication with the housekeeping ambassadors to build and strengthen the relationships among the team.
• Develop and train ambassadors in terms of technical and soft skills.
• Ensure that the productivity and efficiency of cleaning is monitored closely and maintained at the level required by our General Manager.
• Ensure clear and effective communication with the other departments to ensure that guest requests are adhered to.
• Liaise and work closely with the Front Office ambassadors with regards to the readiness of rooms and special requirements as requested by particular guests or VIPs.
• Ensure that corridors and Heart of House areas are cleaned to standards specified in hotel policy.
• Inspect guest rooms in all Housekeeping areas on a regular basis to ensure that the furnishing, facilities and equipment are clean and in good repair, well maintained and replaced or refurbished as required.
• Be responsible for the efficient management of laundry and cost effective use of linen within the hotel, tracking inventory on a regular basis and investigating stock losses.
• Be responsible for the handling of guest laundry and lost property in accordance with the Hotel Policy.
• Liaise with Front Office and Engineering with regards to the readiness of rooms, paying attention to special requirements and VIP rooms.
• Ensure the security of keys, store rooms and guest bedrooms
• Liaise with our General Manager regarding use of outside contractors for deep cleaning requirements, overnight public area cleaning and kitchen cleaning, ensuring that work is checked and standards are achieved as stated in the service contract.
• Liaise and maintain good relationships with the relevant suppliers with regards to Housekeeping supplies (eg. Linens, uniforms).
• Strive to implement the Sofitel Vision and demonstrate active use of Sofitel Values.
• Attend and actively participate in Department Head meetings, respecting the confidentiality of issues which may be discussed.
Any other requests as required by your Superior.

Job Requirement:

• Previous Housekeeping management experience, in a similar role is essential.
• Experienced in the luxurymarket, previous 5 Star experience essential.
• Strong operational background with experience in the implementation and management of brand standards.
• Experience in the coaching anddevelopment of a professional management team.
• Sound knowledge of Opera and Microsoft applications.
• Proven experience with cost control including payroll, expenses and forecasting.
• Well groomed & articulate in communication.
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Excellent time management, organisational skills and ability to work autonomously.
