Job description

We are Motion: For Impact, an experiential agency that moves brands and people—their stakeholders and communities—into action. We do this by designing how they feel.

Founded in Singapore, we are a team of highly performing creatives, planners, strategists, project managers, designers, writers, and makers. For over two decades, we have been designing human‑led experiences with creative rigour, applied empathy and production excellence, across our three service pillars of Content & Communications, Events & Spaces, and People & Culture. In simple terms, we create experiences for impact.

We are now entering a new phase of growth, and are looking for individuals with the right skillset, mindset and heartset to join us on our stage as we perform for our clients to produce work that will move people into action.

The Role

As Event Project Director, you are the primary relationship between Motion and our clients. You are the operational force that ensures what we promise gets delivered with excellence.

You sit at the intersection of client confidence and high‑impact execution. As the primary architect of our events, you will oversee every aspect from inception to execution, protecting the integrity of the work under budget and timeline pressures, ensuring seamless delivery and exceeding client expectations.

Reporting to the Founder & CEO, you will partner closely with our team members to craft and deliver ideas, outcomes and outputs with our ecosystem of partners to deliver impactful work that drives business results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders across Motion’s portfolio of brands
  • Build and maintain trusted, lasting relationships that can withstand scope changes, pivots and the pressures of live‑event delivery
  • Proactively manage client expectations at every stage of a project, ensuring confidence is earned in the lead‑up to execution
  • Brief Translation, Pitching & Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Convert client’s commercial and brand objectives into clear, actionable briefs that the creative and design team can execute with confidence
  • Translate design constraints, production realities and creative decisions back into language that clients can understand and act on
  • Hold the connection between client, creative and production teams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment
  • Work closely with our Business Development Director to lead client presentations and concept pitches, bringing non‑creative prospects into the work with confidence, clarity and a compelling narrative
  • Project Management & Commercial Stewardship
  • Oversee end‑to‑end project delivery: vendor coordination, site logistics, run‑of‑show management, timeline governance, and budget oversight
  • Deploy the right resources to each project, managing capability to brief, and ensuring workload is distributed with operational intelligence
  • Own scoping, quotating and margin management across account portfolio: maintaining full budget visibility throughout project lifecycles, flagging variances early, managing change‑orders and protecting margins while maintaining client trust
  • Negotiate with vendors on costs and terms, and with clients on scope, timeline and budget trade‑offs to find outcomes that protect both the work and the relationship
  • Build and execute contingency plans across vendors, venues and run‑of‑show, anticipating failure points before they materialise and quality‑checking all components before go‑live
  • Be calm, decisive presence on event days, making fast, clear decisions with composure and leading onsite team with authority and care—clear roles and escalation paths
  • Lead and develop a growing team of events executives, providing meaningful development conversations beyond task direction; investing in long‑term capability of the team, not just immediate deliverables
Requirements
Skillset
  • At least 8‑10 years of experience in events, creative, experiential, or integrated agencies
  • At least 3‑5 years in a senior client leadership or account leadership role
  • A proven track record of managing complex client relationships and large‑scale projects end‑to‑end
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in revenue growth and account expansion
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of experiential, MICE, or production environments
  • Highly proficient in project oversight, budgeting, and resource planning tools (Google Suite / Microsoft Suite)
  • Strong operational awareness of production workflows, timelines, and delivery structures
  • Demonstrated success leading teams of 5‑10 customer‑facing professionals
  • Track record of achieving customer retention targets and growing account revenue by 10‑15% through strategic account management and service excellence
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of key accounts simultaneously, with annual revenue responsibility of S$3‑5 million
Mindset
  • Strategic thinker who can balance client needs, creative ambition, and business goals
  • Deeply curious about culture, human behaviour, and what moves people: this is Motion's foundational language
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a lean, fast‑moving environment
  • You are sharp, disciplined, resourceful and have a passion to deliver results
  • Resilient and adaptive; you can hold the standard under commercial pressure without losing your humanity
  • Motivated by impact, not just output: you think about what the work does, not just what it looks like
Heartset
  • You lead with care: for people, for projects, and for the craft
  • You have deep empathy for clients, teams, and collaborators
  • You are committed, collaborative and respectful
  • You are honest, direct, and generous with your thinking
  • You are motivated and can motivate others
