Job summary

Singapore Institute of Technology invites an experienced Senior Manager, Estates to lead workplace safety, fire safety and regulatory compliance across SIT campuses. You will shape safety strategies, ensure licensing compliance, and enhance safety management systems to support SIT Estates operations.

The role requires a registered WSHO, FSM credentials, and a track record of implementing policies in large facilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, Facilities Management or related discipline.
• Registered WSHO with MOM.
• Qualified Fire Safety Manager (FSM).
• 10+ years in Workplace Safety and Health, preferably in large institutions.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore workplace safety, health and fire safety regulations.
• Familiarity with ISO QEHS and OHSAS 18001; advantageous.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Fire Safety policies, frameworks and management systems.
• Formulate and administer comprehensive risk management and review safe work procedures and mitigation measures.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits and reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational standards.
• Conduct investigations of safety incidents, identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Advise the Estates Division on matters pertaining to EHS issues and licences application, liaise with regulatory agencies and manage licences, permits and regulatory submissions.
• Conduct and coordinate fire drills, and the formation of Company Emergency Response Teams (CERT), and obtain Fire Certificate in compliance to Fire Safety Act & Regulation.
• Ensure compliance with the Fire Safety Act and related regulations through regular audits, inspections and testing of fire protection systems.
• Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare WSH reports and presentations for management review.
• Drive safety awareness through engagement programmes, campaigns, training initiatives and safety committee activities.
• Partner with building operations managers and service providers to ensure that maintenance, project and operational activities are conducted safely and in compliance with established safety requirements.
• Provide safety oversight for campus development, upgrading and refurbishment projects where required.
