Job summary

MKV ENGINEERING AND TRADING SERVICES PTE. LTD. seeks a skilled environmental professional to develop and implement waste management plans for our facilities.

You will manage segregation, collection, storage, recycling and disposal of general, recyclable and hazardous waste, ensuring compliance and documentation. Responsibilities include monitoring waste quantities, maintaining records, and coordinating with licensed waste collectors and environmental service providers.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science/Management, Chemical Science/Engineering or Waste Management/Sustainable Resource Management.
• Experience with environmental plans, waste segregation, recycling and disposal processes is preferred.
• Ability to monitor waste volumes, generate reports and track KPIs.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement waste management and environmental management plans for the facilities.
2. Manage the segregation, collection, storage, recycling and proper disposal of general, recyclable and hazardous waste.
3. Monitor waste quantities and maintain waste generation, recycling and disposal records.
4. Identify opportunities to reduce waste, increase recycling rates and minimise disposal costs.
5. Coordinate and monitor licensed waste collectors, recycling companies and other environmental service providers.
6. Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
7. Monitor environmental matters such as wastewater, trade effluent, pollution, chemical storage, spills and waste disposal, where applicable.
8. Investigate environmental incidents, complaints and non-compliances and prepare appropriate reports and corrective-action plans.
9. Prepare monthly environmental and waste-management reports, including waste volumes, recycling rates, environmental KPIs and improvement initiatives.
10. Conduct environmental and waste-management awareness/training for operational and maintenance personnel.
11. Support the IFM/project management team in achieving the client's sustainability, waste-reduction and environmental performance targets.
