Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher who cares deeply about student learning and is willing to continually grow as an educator.

You will be joining a collaborative teaching team where lesson strategies, curriculum resources, training and feedback are shared to help every teacher become stronger in the classroom.

What You Will Do

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Conduct engaging English lessons for primary school students at our learning centres
  • Apply Lil’ but Mighty’s teaching strategies and curriculum effectively in the classroom
  • Plan, review and evaluate lessons to ensure students are learning effectively
  • Mark and provide constructive feedback on students’ work
  • Monitor students’ progress and identify areas where additional support is needed
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents about their child’s learning progress
  • Build positive relationships with students and create a classroom environment where they feel encouraged to participate and learn
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to review curriculum, develop teaching materials and improve instructional strategies
  • Participate actively in training, lesson observations and professional development
  • Remain open to coaching, new ideas and feedback
  • Teach an average of 12 classes per week, including relief classes when required
  • Support workshops, programmes and other educational initiatives organised by Lil’ but Mighty
Who We Are Looking For

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Have experience teaching English to primary school children
  • Have a strong command of written and spoken English
  • Are confident in teaching areas such as writing, grammar, comprehension and oral communication
  • Can manage a classroom effectively while building positive relationships with students
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with parents
  • Are dependable, responsible and committed to following through on your responsibilities
  • Are self-motivated, proactive and results-focused
  • Are receptive to feedback and willing to continually improve your teaching
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with other educators
  • Bring positive energy, warmth and enthusiasm into the classroom
  • Are able to work four weekdays and one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)
Preferred Qualifications

We welcome applicants with relevant teaching experience and particularly value candidates with:

  • Diploma in Education (NIE)
  • Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Education from NIE
  • An equivalent recognised overseas teaching qualification
  • Strong academic results, with Merit or Distinction preferred
  • Previous experience teaching in Singapore primary schools, tuition centres or enrichment settings

Relevant teaching experience and demonstrated classroom ability will also be considered.
