Job summary

Sheffield Energy Pte. Ltd. in Singapore invites a seasoned LNG project executive to lead strategy, business development, and product/service development for LNG assets.

You will drive joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions, and coordinate post-acquisition integration while aligning with corporate goals. The role requires 10–15 years in LNG/offshore/marine sectors, strong leadership and stakeholder management, and deep knowledge of LNG infrastructure (LNGCs, FSUs, pipelines).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 10–15 years of LNG, offshore, marine, shipbuilding, energy or large-scale infrastructure projects, with proven project management experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of LNG infrastructure, including LNG carriers (LNGC), FSU/FSRU/FRU, pipelines and related facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning and lifecycle management of complex engineering projects.
  • Good understanding of international engineering standards, classification society requirements, HSE, quality management systems and relevant statutory regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, contractors, consultants and cross-functional teams while delivering projects within cost, quality and timeline objectives.
  • Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills with experience conducting technical evaluations, feasibility studies and engineering risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and drive strategy, business development, and product/service development for LNG assets.
  • Lead joint venture, partnership, merger, and acquisition processes: conduct feasibility and decision-support studies, manage relationships with external stakeholders, and coordinate post-acquisition integration processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate technological innovations and industry trends; carry out the integration of new technologies into product/service concepts and related feasibility studies.
  • Set, monitor, and continuously improve cost and quality targets.
  • Manage the technical requirements, classifications, plans, and specifications of products/services; define their characteristics and ensure the preparation of the necessary technical documentation.
  • Coordinate the design of relevant equipment and systems; plan and manage engineering, process, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Manage all activities related to the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of natural gas assets.
  • Identify and develop new technologies, carry out feasibility studies, and ensure their integration into product/service concepts.
  • Carry out vessel selection for natural gas investments; conduct procurement feasibility studies, and prepare, control, and approve investment budgets.
  • Manage investment planning, budgeting, design, and engineering processes for LNGC, LNGTF, FSU, FSRU, and FRU vessels.
  • Carry out compliance checks against classification society rules for vessels, identify requirements, conduct audits, and ensure implementation of required actions.
  • Plan and manage vessel newbuilding, conversion, drydocking, and rehabilitation processes; ensure coordination with shipyards and engineering firms.
  • Develop project concept designs; review candidate vessel projects, plans, and drawings, conduct suitability assessments, and submit them for senior management approval.
  • Manage processes with third‑party engineering firms and suppliers; prepare technical specifications, follow up on bids and contracts, and carry out approval processes.
  • Audit equipment, materials, and other products for compliance with technical specifications; participate in FAT and similar tests, and approve deliveries.
  • Ensure coordination of operations under central procurement, local procurement, and JV scope; grant approvals within defined limits.
  • Establish and manage project teams and coordinate technical communication; carry out project definitions in the ERP system and perform macro planning.
  • Inspect field implementation of investment projects against project standards; approve spare parts and service requests.
  • Prepare commercial and technical progress reports of projects and present them to senior management; carry out notifications regarding insurance scope, amount, and duration.
  • Manage the commissioning, testing, warranty, and certification processes of natural gas vessel investment projects; prepare reports and communicate them to relevant units.
  • Manage the design, procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning activities of natural gas pipeline projects; coordinate powership connections and testing processes.
  • Carry out the connection, testing, and inspection of main engines and auxiliary equipment; organize third‑party service providers and subcontractors.
  • Control and approve subcontractor progress payments related to commissioning processes.
  • Manage the operational readiness, navigation, and voyage instruction processes of natural gas vessels.
  • Prepare, control, and approve vessel operating budgets; monitor P&I and insurance processes.
  • Carry out the selection of operating companies; manage communication and coordination processes; monitor operation, maintenance, and management processes within JV scope.
  • Monitor STS (Ship-to-Ship) operations; plan and follow up on cargo procurement in line with powership consumption.
  • Monitor and report the operational performance of natural gas vessels, and communicate this to senior management.
  • Manage effectively and efficiently, and control the use of resources allocated to the department under his/her management, such as human resources, budget, equipment, and time.
  • Set targets for team members; provide regular feedback to ensure these targets are achieved; create development plans; and effectively carry out performance evaluation processes by monitoring individual/team performance.
  • Identify employees' training and development needs; plan annual leave; ensure that personnel matters such as promotions, leave, and title changes are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure coordination with other departments; carry out communication and representation duties with external stakeholders in accordance with company values and rules.
  • Participate in recruitment processes for open positions within the department; provide input and contribute to decision-making processes in coordination with the HR Business Partner unit.
  • Comply with the company's risk management approach.
  • Comply with the company's Quality, Environment, and OHS procedures, instructions, and regulations, and monitor compliance with these rules.
