Job summary

BNL Services Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks an experienced engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of waste sorting and valorisation solutions. You will audit workflows, redesign processes, and own the full lifecycle from concept to pilot and rollout.

The role requires 5+ years in engineering roles with exposure to waste management or industrial automation, plus Lean/Six Sigma experience. Collaboration with operations and business teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering roles, with exposure to waste management, recycling, materials recovery, or industrial automation is advantageous.
• Experience with process optimization methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) strongly preferred.
• Experience with robotics, automation systems, or process engineering strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering technology projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of engineering solutions for waste sorting, material recovery, and valorisation.
• Audit and assess current waste sorting and processing workflows to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization ahead of new technology deployment.
• Redesign and re-engineer existing processes to improve throughput and reduce costs.
• Own the end-to-end engineering lifecycle for new waste processing technologies and equipment.
• Evaluate and integrate robotics, automation, sensor-based sorting, and IoT monitoring to improve sorting accuracy and throughput.
• Develop and standardize engineering processes and specifications across facilities.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis to prioritize optimization initiatives.
• Manage vendor and technology partner relationships for new solutions.
• Collaborate with Operations and Business Development to align improvements with capacity, safety, and commercial goals.
• Drive continuous improvement across new and existing systems to maximize value from waste streams.
• Oversee project budgets, timelines, and ROI tracking for engineering and deployment projects.
• Ensure compliance with WSH/bizSAFE, environmental regulations, and ISO/quality standards.
• Stay current with global waste-tech trends to inform the roadmap.
