Job summary

GrabTaxi Holdings Pte. Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers responsible for building and operating critical fulfilment capabilities.

You will enable the team to deliver reliable outcomes, grow technical leaders and align product priorities with an effective engineering roadmap. You will remain technically fluent while empowering senior contributors to drive architecture and technical decisions, reporting to the Senior Software Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in software engineering with production systems
• Two+ years in people management of engineers
• Hands-on with LLM and generative AI solutions
• Understand AI risks: privacy, security, reliability, latency and cost
• Strong backend, distributed systems, APIs and cloud infra knowledge
• Able to deliver complex initiatives with multiple teams
• Experience coaching engineers and career development
• Sound judgment balancing delivery, quality and maintainability
• Strong written and verbal communication of AI trade-offs

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers for fulfilment capabilities.
• Partner with Product/Data/Analytics/Operations to set priorities and roadmaps.
• Own planning and delivery of the team's engineering roadmap with dependencies and risks.
• Guide architecture and trade-offs with senior engineers.
• Improve reliability, scalability, security, observability and cost efficiency.
• Establish engineering practices: reviews, testing, deployment, incident response.
• Create an inclusive environment with ownership and psychological safety.
• Attract and retain engineering talent and contribute to hiring.
• Communicate progress, risks and decisions to stakeholders.
