Job summary

Shangri-La Singapore is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Manager to lead and oversee hotel-wide maintenance across guestrooms, function spaces, and back of house. You will drive preventive and corrective work, manage budgets, and supervise the engineering team to meet safety and service standards.

Ideal candidates bring a Diploma in Engineering with 5–10 years of relevant experience in hospitality or similar properties, strong leadership, and proven planning skills to ensure seamless

• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant engineering or facilities management experience, preferably in hospitality or commercial properties.
• Strong technical knowledge and standards for general maintenance.
• Proven leadership, manpower planning, and team development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, oversee the overall maintenance for guestroom, function space, front of house and back of house throughout the hotel.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance works are carried out efficiently and to established standards.
• Monitor outstanding work orders and follow up on timely completion of maintenance activities.
• Support hotel operations and events by ensuring all maintenance services and technical requirements are met.
• Manage maintenance budget and overall expenditure.
• Manage engineering spare parts and materials to ensure adequate stock availability.
• Monitor inventory usage and initiate procurement requests when required.
• Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of engineering tools, equipment, and facilities.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate the Engineering team to achieve departmental goals and service standards.
• Plan manpower deployment, duty rosters, and resource allocation to support operational needs.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and identify development opportunities for team members.
• Drive technical competency through orientation, on-the-job training, and skills development programmes.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external contractors to support maintenance and improvement projects.
• Conduct regular briefings and communicate operational priorities, safety requirements, and departmental updates.
• Provide technical support and recommendations to address operational issues and business needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, engineering standards, and hotel policies.
• Promote safe working practices and cultivate a strong safety culture within the department.
• Monitor workplace cleanliness, staff grooming, and adherence to operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
