Job summary

GovTech is seeking an Engineering Lead to steer the software engineering capability for digital products and platforms that improve staff productivity, workflow efficiency and employee experience across the organisation. This hands-on role provides technical leadership across frontend, backend, APIs, databases and integrations, ensuring secure, scalable delivery.

The successful candidate will guide engineering designs, align with enterprise architecture and security standards, mentor engineers,

Qualifications

Strong software engineering experience designing, building and operating production-grade applications.
Experience leading engineers, mentoring developers, setting engineering standards and improving team practices.
Experience with enterprise integrations, workflow automation, SaaS platforms, APIs, middleware or internal productivity tools.
Demonstrated ability to translate product needs into technical solutions and delivery plans.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the software engineering team across one or more digital products or platforms.
Provide hands-on technical leadership across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, integrations, automation and AI-enabled product capabilities.
Set engineering standards, CI/CD, testing, observability, documentation and secure-by-design development.
Review and guide product-level technical designs and implementation approaches.
Coach engineers, support hiring and onboarding, and build capability in full-stack development and cloud delivery.
