Job summary

Our client is an established engineering and technical solutions company supporting complex projects in high-technology and industrial sectors. They are expanding and seek an Engineering Manager in the Singapore East area to lead engineering project delivery.

You will head the design team, plan manpower and priorities, review client specs, and coordinate HVAC, cleanroom, mechanical, and utility works, ensuring quality and on-time completion.

Qualifications

• Min Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• 6–8 years of engineering design experience with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, cleanroom systems, ventilation and facility engineering.
• Experience with P&IDs, calculations, equipment specs, layouts and drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and project planning tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering/design team across multiple projects to meet quality, scope and timeline.
• Plan manpower, workload and engineering priorities based on project needs.
• Establish engineering approaches and review client specs and tenders.
• Coordinate HVAC, cleanroom, mechanical, utilities, piping, electrical and controls.
• Review and approve calculations, P&IDs, layouts and equipment selections.
• Collaborate with commercial, project and site teams on tenders and handovers.
• Lead technical evaluations with clients, vendors and subcontractors and resolve design risks.
• Mentor staff and drive continuous improvement via standards and digital tools.

Job description

Due to their current expansion plan, they are looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team and lead engineering project delivery. They are located in the East area.

• Lead the engineering/design team across multiple projects, ensuring technical deliverables meet quality, scope and timeline requirements.
• Plan manpower, workload and engineering priorities based on project schedules, procurement and construction needs.
• Establish engineering approaches and review client specifications, tenders and technical requirements to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering works across HVAC, cleanroom, mechanical, process utilities, piping, electrical, controls and instrumentation.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, P&IDs, layouts, drawings, specifications, equipment selections, datasheets and technical submissions.
• Collaborate with commercial, project and site teams on tenders, technical proposals, design changes, construction issues, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Lead technical evaluations with clients, vendors and subcontractors while identifying and resolving design risks, gaps and clashes.
• Mentor engineering staff and drive continuous improvement through engineering standards, procedures, value engineering, lessons learned and digital tools.

Requirements:

• Min Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Min 6 to 8 years of relevant engineering design experience, will 4 years leadership experience.
• Strong technical knowledge in several areas such as HVAC, cleanroom systems, ventilation, water systems or facility engineering, etc
• Skills in P&IDs, engineering calculations, equipment specifications, layouts, drawings and technical submissions will be advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Project or relevant engineering software will be advantageous.
