Job summary

Housing and Development Board in Singapore is seeking engineers to help shape the future of our coastlines through coastal engineering projects. You will plan and manage coastal engineering works, conduct feasibility and environmental studies, and prepare cost estimates and schedules for projects.

You will coordinate tendering, review designs, and oversee consultancy and construction activities to meet budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Civil or environmental engineering background recognised by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.
• Experience in coastal, land reclamation, infrastructure, geotechnical, traffic or hydraulic projects is an asset.
• Familiarity with engineering design/analysis software is an asset.

Job description

What the role is:

We are seeking people with desire, drive, passion and innovative ideas to help shape the future of our coastlines.

What you will be working on:

You will plan and manage coastal engineering projects including the related geotechnical and infrastructure works. You will be required to conduct engineering feasibility studies, environmental studies, analyse and provide cost-effective solutions for civil engineering problems including the preparation of cost estimates and schedules for the projects. You will also be responsible for coordination and supervision of the tendering process, review of engineering design, supervision and project management of consultancy and construction works including managing your projects to meet budgets and timelines.

What we are looking for:

You should have strong communication skills and be able to manage consultations with government agencies and stakeholders. We are looking for team player with strong analytical ability, growth mindset and creative thinking.

You should possess a relevant background in Civil or Environmental Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore. Prior experience in coastal, land reclamation, infrastructure, geotechnical, traffic or hydraulic engineering projects and knowledge of the relevant engineering design/analysis software will be an asset.

Successful candidates will be offered a 1+1 year contract.
