Job summary

HDB Housing & Development Board in Singapore seeks civil or environmental engineers to shape coastlines. You will plan and manage coastal engineering projects, conduct feasibility and environmental studies, and prepare cost estimates and schedules for projects.

You will coordinate tendering, review designs, and supervise consultancy and construction works to meet budgets and timelines. Strong communication, analytical skills, and a growth mindset are essential; PE Singapore-registered background

Qualifications

• You should possess a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree recognised by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore.
• Prior experience in coastal, land reclamation, infrastructure, geotechnical, traffic or hydraulic engineering projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering design/analysis software will be an asset.
• Successful candidates will be offered a 1+1 year contract.

What the role is

What you will be working on

You will plan and manage coastal engineering projects including the related geotechnical and infrastructure works. You will be required to conduct engineering feasibility studies, environmental studies, analyse and provide cost-effective solutions for civil engineering problems including the preparation of cost estimates and schedules for the projects. You will also be responsible for coordination and supervision of the tendering process, review of engineering design, supervision and project management of consultancy and construction works including managing your projects to meet budgets and timelines.

You should have strong communication skills and be able to manage consultations with government agencies and stakeholders. We are looking for team player with strong analytical ability, growth mindset and creative thinking. You should possess a relevant background in Civil or Environmental Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore. Prior experience in coastal, land reclamation, infrastructure, geotechnical, traffic or hydraulic engineering projects and knowledge of the relevant engineering design/analysis software will be an asset.
