Job summary

HTX is Singapore's Science and Technology agency focusing on protective security for homeland safety. The role is to support the Centre for Protective Security (CPS) in reviewing physical protective infrastructure and offering technical advisory to Home Team agencies.

We seek candidates with engineering degrees, 2+ years in security, and strong analytical and writing skills to work in a dynamic environment within the Public Safety sector of HTX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering is required.
• At least two years’ working experience in security-related industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of protective security, especially Physical Protective Infrastructure.
• Strong interest in counter-terrorism and homeland security.
• Resilient and capable of working in a dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with good communication and writing skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Review and inspect protective security works related to Physical Protective Infrastructure in support of SBD under IPA.
• Provide technical advisory to Home Team Departments and related agencies on security issues.
• Carry out technical studies to establish and enhance Protective Infrastructure standards and guidelines.
• Develop course content and serve as adjunct trainer for CPS courses.

The candidate will be forward deployed to the Centre for Protective Security (CPS), which is a department under the Singapore Police Force.

What you will be working on:

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following duties:

• Responsible for reviewing and inspecting protective security works related to Physical Protective Infrastructure (Hostile Vehicle Mitigation Measures, Forced Entry Protection, Perimeter Security, Collective Protection, Ballistic Protection etc.) in support of Security‑By‑Design (SBD) process under Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA).
• Provide technical advisory and consultancy to Home Team Departments and Home‑front agencies on security issues related to Physical Protective Infrastructure and mitigation measures.
• Carry out technical studies to establish and enhance Protective Infrastructure standards and guidelines.
• Develop course content and serve as adjunct trainer for Physical Protective Infrastructure related courses conducted by CPS.
