Job summary

SP Group in Singapore seeks a Senior Gas Transmission Engineer to oversee the operation and maintenance of gas transmission infrastructure, plan maintenance schedules, and supervise technicians. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and working across multiple facilities in a dynamic energy environment.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, and owning a driving license is advantageous for site assignments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering from university recognized by PE Board Singapore.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, resourceful and meticulous.
• Highly motivated and pro‑active with the ability to work both independently as well as in a team.
• Possess a valid driving license and having own transport would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of Gas Transmission Infrastructure.
• Plan and implement maintenance schedule to ensure safe and reliable operation of the Gas Transmission Pipeline and its associated facilities.
• Plan and implement patrolling programs for the Gas Transmission Pipeline.
• Control and monitor third‑parties earthwork activities in the vicinity of Gas Transmission Pipeline to prevent damages to the pipeline.
• Plan, organize and execute commissioning / decommissioning of pipelines and facilities.
• Review and ensure adherence to safe works practices.
• Formulate, review and implement standard operating procedures, emergency response plans and other relevant procedures.
• Ensure the adequate stocking of spares, and initiate purchase when required, for routine maintenance and emergencies.
• Ensure that the tools and equipment are adequate and properly maintained to maintain operation readiness.
• Supervise all Technical Officers and Technicians of the section.
• Establish and review documentation and filing system.
• Prepare specifications for procurement and initiate calling and evaluation of quotation/tenders.
• Train and upgrade skill of the section to maintain competence in the operation and maintenance of the Gas Transmission Infrastructure.
• Conduct / participate in emergency exercises.
• Plan and provide budget for the Section.
• Monitor expenditures within approved budget.
• Perform Standby Duties after office hours.
