Job summary

PERFORMANCE LABS PTE. LTD. is setting up a new food manufacturing facility and seeks a hands-on Engineer to join during equipment installation and grow into an operational role.

You will work with the commissioning team on site, learn the line inside out, and eventually own maintenance, troubleshooting, and process optimization while also operating the line during start-up and training shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial equipment and plant operations.
• Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics.
• Experience in startup, commissioning, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Shadow the equipment manufacturer’s team during installation and commissioning.
• Learn mechanical, electrical, and control systems for production equipment.
• Assist with punch-listing and ensuring installation meets specs.
• Review and organize equipment documentation (P&IDs, schematics, datasheets).
• Own the site maintenance programme and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the Plant Director to optimize parameters for yield and quality.
• Manage external contractors for maintenance and calibration.
• Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
• Operate the line during start-up and peak periods as needed.
• Train shift operators on operation, basic troubleshooting, and safety.
• Support QC with process data and sampling during production.

Job description

We are setting up a new food manufacturing facility producing encapsulated flavour powders. We are looking for a hands-on Engineer to join us during the equipment installation phase and grow into a key operational role.

You will work alongside the equipment manufacturer's commissioning team during installation, learn the line inside out, and eventually take ownership of equipment performance, maintenance, and process troubleshooting. Once we are running, you will also operate the line and help train shift operators.

This is not a desk job. You will be on the plant floor, working directly with the equipment.

Key Responsibilities

During Installation & Commissioning

• Shadow the equipment manufacturer's engineering team throughout the full installation and commissioning period.
• Learn the mechanical, electrical, and control systems of all production equipment in detail.
• Assist with punch-listing, snagging, and verifying that installation meets specifications.
• Review and organise all equipment documentation: P&IDs, electrical schematics, equipment datasheets, and maintenance manuals.

After Commissioning – Equipment & Process Ownership

• Own the site maintenance programme: planned preventive maintenance, spare parts inventory, and equipment history records.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and process issues to minimise downtime.
• Work with the Plant Director to optimise process parameters for yield, quality, and efficiency.
• Manage external contractors and service providers for specialised maintenance and calibration.
• Ensure all equipment complies with safety, GMP, and regulatory requirements.

Operations Support

• Operate the production line as needed during start-up, training, and peak periods.
• Train shift operators on equipment operation, basic troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
• Support the QC team with process data and sampling during production.
