Job summary

SPD in Singapore is seeking a Support Senior Training Officer to assist in delivering life and work skills training for clients with disabilities. You will support the team to improve trainees’ independence, work skills and overall wellbeing through individualized, person-centred approaches.

You will coordinate with therapists and specialists to develop training materials, deliver sessions, and maintain ICP records.

Qualifications

• Minimum an “O” level/“A” level/ITE certification, preferably with at least 1-2 years of experience in working with persons with disabilities.
• Relevant experience in Special Education or Social/Community Services with exposure to youths/adults with disabilities is preferred.
• Demonstrate a commitment to and an understanding of social inclusion as well as the values associated with promoting independence.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in performing areas of self-care such as feeding, grooming and toileting including diaper changing and maintaining good hygiene.
• Plan and develop therapeutic and training materials using a person-centred approach across independent living, communication, social-emotional and pre-vocational skills.
• Assist in developing interventions and managing challenging behaviours with the team.
• Assist in implementing Individual Care Plans (ICP) and updating records.
• Support caregivers with care needs and applying training in home settings.
• Ensure safety rules and training procedures are followed in the centre and maintain clean training spaces.
• Document clients' progress and daily activities; participate in work process analysis for skill improvements.
• Report any incidents to the Manager and carry out other duties as required.
