Job summary

The National University of Singapore is seeking a capable officer to support SCDF regulatory requirements for the CERT and respond to incidents across the campus. The role involves CERT duties, prompt incident response using ERT vehicles, and firefighting support across various equipment and scenarios.

The ideal candidate will assist in fire safety inspections and drills, coordinate with contractors, and work with the CEM Team during emergencies. Shift work, licenses, and fitness are required.

Qualifications

• Education: GCE 'N' Level or equivalent.
• Experience in firefighting from SCDF, AES, MPA, or equivalent.
• Class 2B motorcycle riding licence.
• Class 3 or 3A driving licence preferred.
• Physically fit with no colour vision deficiency or hearing impairment.
• WSQ Fire & HazMat course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CERT duties as a member of the NUS Emergency Response Team.
• Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies using ERT vehicles.
• Fight incipient fires and operate firefighting equipment including CAF backpacks, SCBA, hoses.
• Conduct fire safety inspections, drills, and coordinate maintenance for CERT equipment and ERT vehicles.
• Work with internal stakeholders to rectify fire safety risks identified during patrols.
• Coordinate with SCDF and the NUS Crisis Emergency Management Team during emergencies.
